Curriculum Structure

Dover follows a coherent K–12 academic progression:

History of UWCSEA Dover

Origins (1971)

UWCSEA Dover traces its roots to 1971, when it was established as Singapore International School and opened by Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. The school's founding purpose was to serve the international community in Singapore and to foster cross-cultural understanding in post-independence South East Asia — a region navigating significant political and social change at the time.

Joining the UWC Movement (1975)

In 1975, the school formally joined the United World College movement, adopting the UWC mission and renaming itself United World College of South East Asia. This affiliation connected it to a global network of schools founded on the ideals of peace, international understanding, and education as a transformative force — principles articulated originally by UWC founder Kurt Hahn.

Growth and Expansion

Over the following decades, UWCSEA Dover grew steadily in enrolment and reputation. The campus at 1207 Dover Road was developed into an 11-hectare facility with comprehensive academic, sports, arts, and residential infrastructure. To meet growing demand from Singapore's expanding expatriate and international community, UWCSEA later opened a second campus — East Campus — in Tampines.

Scale Today

As of 2025/26, UWCSEA Dover alone enrols ~3,139 students from 78 countries. Across both campuses, the school serves over 5,600 students, making it the largest member school in the UWC movement, which now comprises 18 schools and colleges worldwide. Dover remains the original and flagship campus.
