This Cookie Policy (hereinafter referred to as “this Policy”) describes the use of cookies and similar technologies on the international school information portal site “Schoozy” (https://schoozy.com; hereinafter referred to as “the Service”) operated by ELT Education Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company” or “we”).
This Policy includes matters to be publicly disclosed in connection with the external transmission regulations under Article 27-12 of the Telecommunications Business Act. This Policy also addresses the requirements under the GDPR applicable to users residing in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on a user’s device (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.) when the user visits a website. Cookies record information such as the user’s preference settings and session information, and are used to restore previous settings and states when the user revisits the website.
In addition to cookies, the Service may use similar technologies such as local storage, web beacons (pixel tags), and JavaScript. In this Policy, the term “cookies” includes these similar technologies.
2. Types of Cookies Used
The cookies used by the Service are classified into the following four categories.
2-1. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for providing the basic functions of the Service. Without these cookies, basic features such as user registration, login, and language settings will not function. Strictly Necessary Cookies do not require user consent and cannot be disabled.
2-2. Functional Cookies
These cookies remember users’ settings and preferences to provide a more convenient service experience. For example, they are used to retain language selection, save comparison lists, and remember display settings.
2-3. Analytics Cookies
These cookies statistically analyze how users use the Service and help improve the Service. They collect information such as pages viewed, time spent on the site, and traffic sources in an anonymized form.
2-4. Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to display advertisements based on users’ interests and to measure advertising effectiveness. At this time, the Service does not use Marketing Cookies; however, if they are introduced in the future, this Policy will be revised in advance and user consent will be obtained.
3. List of External Transmission Programs
Pursuant to Article 27-12 of the Telecommunications Business Act, the following is a public disclosure of the content of information transmitted externally from users’ devices in connection with the Service, the destinations of such transmissions, and the purposes of use.
*This list is updated from time to time in accordance with changes to the external transmission programs used by the Service.
*The above is as of the date this Policy was established. Additional external transmission programs may be added in connection with the addition of new features to the Service. When additions are made, this list will be promptly updated.
*If advertising platforms (such as Google Display Network, Meta Audience Network, etc.) are introduced to the Service in the future, this Policy will be revised in advance, and such platforms will only be introduced after obtaining user consent.

For users residing in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, cookies other than Strictly Necessary Cookies are managed on an opt-in (prior consent) basis in accordance with the GDPR. That is, Analytics Cookies and Marketing Cookies will not be set unless the user explicitly consents.

6. Handling of IP Addresses
The Service has IP anonymization enabled in Google Analytics 4, and users’ IP addresses are anonymized prior to analytics processing. However, IP addresses recorded at the time of review submission are retained for six months from the date of posting in accordance with Article 10, Paragraph 9 of the Terms of Service, in order to respond to requests for disclosure of sender information. This retention is carried out as server-side logs, not through cookies.
7. Implementation of Google Consent Mode v2
The Service implements Google Consent Mode v2. This controls the behavior of Google tags (such as GA4) based on the user’s cookie consent status as follows:
- When consent is granted: GA4 operates normally, and cookies (such as _ga, _gid, etc.) are set.
- When consent is not granted: GA4 does not set cookies and only sends cookieless pings (anonymized signals). These pings do not contain personally identifiable information.
The consent signals controlled by Consent Mode are as follows:
- analytics_storage: Allow/deny Analytics Cookies
- ad_storage: Allow/deny advertising cookies (currently not in use)
- ad_user_data: Allow/deny the transmission of user data for advertising purposes (currently not in use)
- ad_personalization: Allow/deny personalized advertising (currently not in use)
8. Third-Party Cookies
The providers of third-party cookies (cookies set by parties other than the Company) used by the Service each have their own privacy policies. The privacy policies of each provider are as follows:

- Supabase, Inc.: https://supabase.com/privacy
- Vercel Inc.: https://vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy
The Company is not responsible for the operation of third-party cookies. Please review the privacy policy of each provider.
9. Cross-Border Transfer of Cookie Information
Some of the external transmission programs listed above (Google Analytics, Supabase, Vercel) transmit data to servers located in the United States. The Company carries out cross-border transfers of data with appropriate safeguards in accordance with the measures set forth in Article 5 of our Privacy Policy.
Japan has received an adequacy decision from the European Commission; therefore, data transfers from within the EU/EEA to Japan may be conducted without additional safeguards under the GDPR. Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
10. Revisions to This Policy
The Company may revise this Policy in response to the addition or modification of cookies or external transmission programs used, amendments to applicable laws and regulations, and other changes. The revised Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on the Service. In the event of significant changes (such as the introduction of new third-party cookies or Marketing Cookies), we will request consent from users again.
