Tuition Fees Exempt from General Sales Tax in Jordan
Jordan's Income and Sales Tax Department lists education as an exempt service under the General Sales Tax (GST) schedule, meaning charges genuinely constituted as educational tuition are not subject to the standard 16% GST rate. The exemption applies to the tuition component itself; it does not necessarily extend to ancillary charges such as transport, meals, uniforms or activity fees, which may be priced and taxed separately. The official schedules reviewed do not specify an exact commencement date for the education exemption, though it appears in the currently maintained tax tables. Jordanian Subjects Mandatory in Schools Using Foreign Curricula
