Humble Beginnings in Hua Hin

The British Educational Children's Center (The BECC) was established in 2009 with a clear but ambitious vision: to bring the rigour and warmth of the English National Curriculum to the coastal resort town of Hua Hin, in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Thailand. When it opened its doors, the school had just three students—a fact that speaks to the courage of its founders and the personal trust of those first families, many of whom came to the school through personal recommendation.

Over the intervening years, The BECC has grown steadily and organically. English is the sole language of instruction for academic subjects across all year groups. In addition:

• Thai is a compulsory subject for all students, reflecting the school's location and its responsibility to the host country

• EAL (English as an Additional Language) support is available for students whose first language is not English
