GIS places a strong emphasis on campus safety. The school operates a 24-hour security system with CCTV coverage and on-site police presence, reflecting both the school's duty of care to its students and the practical realities of operating in a semi-rural Thai location. Ambitious Expansion Plans

GIS is in the process of significantly expanding its facilities. Three major projects are underway or planned: the Tiger Fieldhouse & Gymnasium (a new indoor sports facility), an Auditorium, and a Performing Arts Center. These additions will substantially enhance the school's capacity for athletics, whole-school gatherings, and the performing arts — areas where the current facilities are acknowledged to be limited.

The Admissions Process

For families who qualify, the admissions process is thorough and multi-step:

1. Online Application — Submission of the application form with a 2,000 THB application fee.
2. Documentation — Passport copies, birth certificate, immunization records, prior school transcripts (two years), and teacher/principal recommendations.
3. English Interview — Conducted in person (no remote option), including a writing sample. This is a non-negotiable step.
4. English Proficiency Test — Required for applicable grades, with a 1,500 THB fee.
5. Standardized Academic Test — Covering English and mathematics, with a 1,500 THB fee.
6. Admission Decision — Communicated via official letter.

English Requirements by Grade

GIS has clear, grade-differentiated English background requirements:

• Kindergarten – Grade 2: No prior English schooling required.
• Grades 3–5: At least one year of English-medium schooling immediately prior to application.
• Grades 6–8: At least one year of English-medium schooling.
• Grades 9–12: At least two years of English-medium schooling.

These requirements reflect the increasing academic demands of the American curriculum at higher grade levels, where English fluency is essential for success in AP courses and standardized testing.

Selectivity and Waitlists

GIS does not publish an acceptance rate, but the school is described as selective within its target community. The waitlist is a real feature of the admissions process, particularly for non-member families applying outside the main season.
