Non-Selective Entry

The school does not require entrance examinations or academic assessments for admission. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability within published class size caps (maximum 16 in Primary, 15 in Secondary). This means that a family arriving in İzmir can enrol their child without the stress of preparing for competitive tests — a significant advantage when dealing with the many other logistical demands of an international move.

Rolling, Year-Round Admissions

Applications are accepted throughout the academic year. Mid-year enrolment is actively accommodated, which is essential for families whose international assignments begin at times that do not align with the start of the school year (August). The school does not currently maintain a waiting list, meaning that in most cases a place can be confirmed relatively quickly after application.

Welcoming Non-English Speakers

Although English is the sole medium of instruction at MEF IS, the school explicitly welcomes students who are not yet proficient in English. An English Language Learner (ELL) programme provides structured support through pull-out sessions and in-class assistance, giving children the best chance of integrating quickly and making academic progress. Application Process and Fees

For new applicants, the process involves:

1. Application fee: USD 1,250 (non-refundable, paid at time of application).
2. Enrollment/placement fee: USD 4,000–7,000 depending on grade level (Reception 1–2: USD 4,000; KG: USD 5,000; Grades 1–5: USD 6,000; Grades 6–8: USD 6,500; Grades 9–12: USD 7,000). This is a one-time fee paid after acceptance to confirm the place.
3. Registration fee: USD 3,500 (one-time, for new students entering Grade 1 or above).

Annual tuition ranges from USD 19,300 (Reception) to USD 41,965 (IB Year 2), with sibling discounts of 2% available (total discounts capped at 25%). Lunch is included in tuition fees.

No Boarding

MEF IS is a day school only. There are no boarding facilities, which means all students commute daily either independently or via the contracted school bus network.
