Established Tokyo campuses cluster near the top of the fee range
Published 2026–27 fee schedules for American-curriculum schools in Tokyo cover a wide span, but the range compresses once comparison is limited to established, all-through campuses rather than newer or smaller schools. Fees rise more sharply between elementary and high school than between adjacent grades, so a family enrolling a kindergartner should not extrapolate directly from a Grade 12 fee.
Beyond tuition, Tokyo schools commonly bill a one-time entry or building-development charge in the first year, plus a recurring annual facility or capital fee. Bus service, school lunches, and a personal laptop in secondary years are often listed as separate costs, and external exam fees are usually billed on top. Some schools add a one-off charge for older new students needing English-language-acquisition support. Ask each admissions office for a first-year, all-mandatory-charges total for the specific grade rather than comparing tuition alone.
