Brighton College Al Ain was established in 2013 as part of the Brighton College group's international expansion into the Gulf. From its inception, the school aimed to replicate the academic excellence of Brighton College in the UK while serving the rapidly growing expatriate and Emirati population of Al Ain.

Key Milestones

• 2013 — School opens in Zakher, Al Ain, on a purpose-built 28-acre campus with state-of-the-art facilities including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool, a 400-metre all-weather athletics track, and a 450-seat auditorium.
• 2016 — ADEK (Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge) awards the school 'Outstanding' in all assessed areas — the first school in Al Ain to receive this rating. This achievement came just three years after opening, an unusually rapid ascent by any standard.
• 2018 — ADEK re-inspection confirms the 'Outstanding' rating is maintained across all domains.
• 2023 — A third consecutive 'Outstanding' from ADEK, alongside an 'Outstanding' British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection result, confirms the school's sustained excellence.

A Unique Distinction

To this day, Brighton College Al Ain remains the only school in Al Ain to have been rated 'Outstanding' by both ADEK and British Schools Overseas simultaneously. This dual accreditation is rare among UAE schools and reflects consistent high performance across curriculum quality, teaching standards, leadership, and student well-being.

Academic Framework

Brighton College Al Ain delivers the British National Curriculum from Foundation Stage 1 (age 3) through to Year 13 (age 18). The academic pathway leads to:

• Cambridge A Levels — taken in Years 12–13 (Sixth Form / Cycle 3)
