What the school states

NLCS Jeju's own About page states it was a Top 10 finalist, rather than a winner, in the 2023 World's Best School Award. This is recognition within an external award programme, not a comprehensive school-quality ranking.

A page from NLCS International, an institutionally affiliated source, describes NLCS Jeju as one of the most prestigious and successful schools in East Asia. Because this is a group-affiliated statement, it evidences the group's own positioning rather than an independent measurement of reputation.

How entry works now

For 2026–27 the school states that applications are rolling for Reception through Year 12, that Year 11 and Year 13 are unavailable for entry, and that particular year groups may close early if demand is high.

The school's assessment documentation shows testing becomes multi-stage from Year 3, using CAT4 or MAP Growth plus English testing followed by an online interview. Year 12 entry is listed as CAT4, Pearson GSE English, written English, written mathematics and an interview. The January 2026 Admissions Policy adds that Years 3–12 applicants complete a first round in person or online, with only those progressing invited to a second-round interview and remaining assessments, and that applicants unable to travel to Korea may use a combination of online assessment and approved test locations.

What the numbers do and do not show

The only independent selectivity figure available is historic: a Korea JoongAng Daily report of March 23, 2012 stated that in the school's first year (2011–12), 436 students were admitted from 1,229 applicants, alongside English testing and interviews. This is opening-year reporting and is not a current acceptance rate or evidence of current admission odds.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education's 2024 public-disclosure index links an admissions policy and a document labelled as student admission status, but those attachments could not be read through the interface used, so no current applicant, offer, enrolment or waiting-list totals were verified.

Nationality figures as published

The 2025–26 school profile reports the Year 10 to Year 13 student population as 85.78% Korean, 4.81% Chinese and 9.041% Other. The document does not provide a school-wide nationality count, so this describes senior years only.

Government disclosure for 2019–2020 recorded 1,323 students, comprising 1,175 Korean nationals and 148 foreign nationals. Earlier, in August 2016, Dong-A Ilbo reported 1,153 enrolled students, comprising 984 Korean nationals and 169 dual- or foreign-national students, and reported that about 500 senior-school students lived in seven boarding buildings.

What the destination data records

The school's official 2025 destination table records two separate measures, Acceptance and Actual Destination. For example, it lists University College London as 30 acceptances and 7 actual destinations, and University of Oxford as 2 acceptances and 2 actual destinations. Because acceptances count offers rather than enrolments, the two columns should not be read as the same thing.

For the Class of 2024, The Korea Times reported that 64% were planning to study in the United States, 19% in the United Kingdom, 10% in other international destinations and 7% awaiting Korean-university decisions. This is a press report of school-supplied figures rather than an independent audit of outcomes.

Leadership and results

Henry Wiggins was announced as Principal Designate on May 1, 2025 and is now listed as Principal on both the school and NLCS International pages.

The 2025–26 school profile reports 2025 IBDP results of 118 candidates, 112 diplomas awarded, a highest score of 45, 26% scoring 40 or above, and an average of 37.

Fee changes for 2026–27

The 2026–27 fee policy removes the registration fee, introduces a KRW 3,000,000 re-enrollment deposit deducted from the next year's tuition, and sets revised annual bus fees for Jejusi and Seogwiposi.

Cost and entry constraints

This is a boarding-and-day school. On its 2026–27 lump-sum plan, annual tuition ranges from Junior (Reception) at KRW 20,290,890 plus USD 11,760 to Sixth Form (Years 12–13) at KRW 28,443,430 plus USD 16,477, and boarding, meals, transport and some activities can be additional costs. Fees are facts stated by the school; families should confirm the full cost for their year group.

Families considering a mid-secondary or final-year transfer should note that Year 11 and Year 13 are not available for 2026–27 entry, while Year 10 and Year 12 assessment includes formal cognitive, English and mathematics components.

On the school's published material, the model is likely a closer fit for families seeking an English-instruction British/IGCSE-to-IB pathway with extensive boarding and co-curricular provision.
