The school was founded in 1944 in Limassol (Limasol) under the British Colonial Administration as Limasol Ortaokulu — an all-boys middle school serving the Turkish Cypriot community in what was then a British Crown Colony. Growth and Renaming (1953)

By 1953 the school had grown significantly, enrolling approximately 408 students. The 1974 Interruption

Rebirth in Kyrenia (1990–91)

In 1990–91, Turkish Cypriot educational authorities decided to revive the school's legacy in the northern city of Girne (Kyrenia). Renamed 19 Mayıs Türk Maarif Koleji — honouring the date of 19 May, which holds symbolic significance in Turkish national memory — the school reopened with just 35 students in a single class, initially sharing facilities with Girne Anafartalar Lisesi.

Consolidation and Expansion (1993–present)

In 1993 the school moved to its current premises, the former Anafartalar Middle School site, and expanded to three classes.
