Marlborough College material describes MCM as the Malaysian sister school of Marlborough College in Wiltshire, operating since its foundation in 2012.

Recognition, as reported by the school

According to the school's own announcement, Carfax Education's 2024 Schools Index named MCM among its Top 10 Best Private Schools in South East Asia and Top 150 Private Schools globally. This is a publisher ranking rather than an inspection grade or a direct measure of teaching quality.

The school also announced COBIS Triple Beacon Status dated 13 May 2026, which its announcement describes as recognition across safeguarding, care and support, staff expertise, opportunities and community. Both items rest on the school's own statements; no independent source is available in the evidence to corroborate them.

How entry is assessed

A directory entry states that Nursery to Year 3 applicants complete a 'stay and play', while applicants for Year 4 to Sixth Form complete an online Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT), interviews, and English and maths tests. This is the only independent source in the evidence for the admissions process, so it should be confirmed directly with the school.

The school's own materials add that, for the separate Accelerated English Programme, external applicants complete an enquiry, registration form, assessment and interview, with places stated to be limited. The College's published terms say admission is conditional on a place being available and on the pupil and parents meeting admissions requirements, and describe the school as boarding from ages 9 to 18.

The school's own composition statement adds that the majority of pupils are from Singapore and Malaysia, and that among those, around three-quarters are described as expat pupils and a quarter are of Malaysian or Singaporean nationality. The school states that its 78-strong 2025 IB cohort received 107 offers from top-100 global universities, including 12 offers from world top-10 institutions and 101 offers from Russell Group universities.

For 2023 leavers who applied to university, MCM states that all received at least one offer, and that among the cohort who would attend university, 89% were attending their first-choice university and 93% their first- or second-choice university.

MCM published its 2026/2027 fee schedule. Annual day-pupil fees range from RM63,000 for Nursery to RM166,800 for Senior School (Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth). Annual full-boarding fees range from RM203,700 for Preparatory School (Year 5 and Year 6) to RM259,800 for Senior School (Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth), before SST and ancillary charges.

Curriculum fit

Families seeking a fully English-medium British-curriculum route with IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma have a direct fit. On the current public academic materials, MCM does not identify an A-Level programme, so families wanting A-Levels specifically should confirm this with the school.

Boarding and support to confirm

Families requiring boarding should confirm age and place availability: public boarding fees begin at Year 5, and Sixth Form students cannot use weekly boarding because Saturday school operates.

Families needing intensive learning support should ask about current capacity, scope and charges.
