What the recognitions actually are

COBIS records Epsom as a COBIS Accredited Member and lists it as a Beacon School from January 2024. COBIS describes Beacon status as recognition awarded through its Accreditation and Compliance process for demonstrated excellence against a particular standard, not a general league-table ranking.

COBIS also lists the school as a COBIS Training School from 2024, which COBIS describes as a quality-assurance and badging scheme focused on professional development and teacher training. It does not measure student examination outcomes.

The published process

The school's How To Apply page describes a multi-stage process: a recent school report and IC or passport, then a computerised baseline test, an English-level test and an essay-writing task. Interviews are described only as possible for shortlisted applicants.

The June 2026 admissions policy sets out assessment by age. Years 3 to 9 have a pupil interview, a computerised baseline assessment in English, Mathematics and non-verbal reasoning, an independent writing task, a school-report review and a current-school reference. Years 10 to 11 may additionally have subject-specific assessments. Sixth Form applicants have an interview, subject-specific assessments, a predicted or actual results review and a current-school reference.

The May 2024 EAL policy adds that secondary English screening uses Cambridge English assessments and prep screening uses the Young Learners Oxford Placement Test, combined with a writing activity, interview and a CEM assessment, to inform EAL or first-language-English placement.

What cannot be established

On the available evidence, there is no reliable public figure for current full year groups, wait-list length, a published acceptance rate, applicant numbers, or live seat availability. The COBIS member listing confirms accredited-member status but supplies none of these demand measures, and public directories carry conflicting wait-list entries.

Nationalities and scale

In a September 2024 report, The Edge Malaysia recorded Epsom CEO Mark Lankester's statement that the school had around 30 nationalities and that about 65% of its students were international. The school's own digital brochure similarly says its community represents over 30 nationalities and advertises a 1:9 teacher-to-student ratio, but does not publish a current international-versus-Malaysian breakdown.

The Good Schools Guide lists 800 students and 480 boarders, indicating a substantial boarding element within the school.

What the school reports

For the 2025 examination season, the school published that 82% of IGCSE grades were A*-B and 74% of A-Level grades were A*-B. The announcement does not report candidate counts, pass rates, university enrolments, or a destination list.

The school also states that its Class of 2025 secured offers from Russell Group universities including Cambridge, Imperial, LSE and UCL, and from US universities including Brown and USC. This is an offers claim; the page does not state the number of students, whether offers were accepted, or where students ultimately enrolled.

New sixth-form pathway

The school's Sixth Form page says the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IBCP) is launching in August 2026 as a two-year alternative pathway to traditional A-Levels.

Beacon coverage in context

A June 12, 2026 article in The Edge Malaysia reported Epsom's Double COBIS Beacon status for Student Welfare and Leadership in the School. Because COBIS's own Beacon Schools document dates Epsom's Beacon listing to January 2024, the 2026 article reads as press coverage of an existing recognition rather than evidence of a newly granted award.

Location and commuting

The campus is in Bandar Enstek, about 15 minutes from KLIA and about 40 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre. The school offers a complimentary student shuttle, but its public access page does not name a rail station or publish walking access. Families relying on daily commuting should verify the current route, pickup point and journey time for their address.

Boarding age and fees

Full boarding is ordinarily offered for Year 7 through Year 13, with Year 5 and Year 6 considered only in select instances. The 2025/26 full-boarding annual price before SST and other extras is RM160,350 for Years 7-9, RM166,050 for Years 10-11, and RM168,330 for Years 12-13 when published tuition and boarding components are added. Families seeking younger boarding or a lower-cost day option should check the relevant programme terms.
